Bandai | S.H. Figuarts | Kamen Rider X
When a franchise has a very strong character, it's hard to top it off with the next version. For better or for worse, Kamen Rider X had to carry to torch from fan favorite Kamen Rider V3. The series had some good things, but ultimately felt weaker compared to his predecessor and actually had cameos by both V3 and Rider 2 most likely to help boost ratings. The first half of the series struggled and when Apollo Geist came around things got better. Continue Reading
Mattel | MOTU Classics | Rio Blast
Every once in awhile you get a lemon. For MOTU Classics, you can get a bunch. Rio Blast is one of the worst finished products out of the package that I've come across in a long time and I'd like to share it with you. I simply cannot understand how this item made it past through review, QC, and everything else in between. It's an insult from a company that is known for shenanigans from time to time. I give you Rio Blast. Continue Reading
Bandai | D-Arts | Charizard
My favorite Pokémon has always been Charizard. It didn't matter what game version I was playing, but I had to have Charizard on my team. I think a lot of it has to do with his origin story in the Pokémon cartoon where Charmander was abandoned by his trainer, and I really hate it when animals get abandoned or mistreated. So when little Charmander grew into Charizard it just gave me warm and fuzzy feelings. Continue Reading
DC Direct | New 52 | Wonder Woman
When DC decided to do a soft reboot of their universe it was met with a lot of skepticism and frustration. For me, I was thrilled. The DC catalog has been around for ages and there really was no good way for a person to start collecting or get into the stories that had been around since World War II. It was a great way for me to get into the DC characters as I had always been a fan of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Continue Reading
Bandai | S.H. Figuarts | Riderman
The first Kamen Rider sidekick was Riderman who joined Kamen Rider V3 in fighting Destron. It seemed like an odd thing to do considering how popular and how strong V3 was so for most of us as kids, Riderman simply got in the way. Yet, he's considered one of the legendary Riders. Not sure why, but ok. Continue Reading
